ENDURATHANE™
Marine Barge Paint | High Gloss Enamel | Trade Grade
Marine Boat & Narrowboat Paint
High Gloss Marine Enamel | Above & Below Waterline
Endurathane™ is a single-pack, white spirit based marine enamel designed for boats, narrowboats, canal barges and cruisers. This marine bilge paint provides a durable high gloss finish with UV resistance, weather resistance and strong colour retention in canal, inland and coastal environments.
Suitable as narrowboat paint, barge paint and boat locker paint, Endurathane™ is ideal for hulls, cabin sides, decks and marine structures where a professional finish and long-term protection are required. It also performs well where an oil resistant paint is needed in marine environments exposed to daily use, moisture and contamination.
Suitable for primed metal, primed fibreglass (GRP) and wood surfaces, this marine enamel paint is designed for canal, inland and coastal use above and below the waterline.
Why Endurathane™ Marine?
Built for marine use where appearance and durability both matter. This coating is designed to give a clean gloss finish, strong adhesion on prepared substrates and reliable protection for canal boats, barges and yachts.

Performance & Protection
Endurathane™ delivers a durable high gloss marine finish with reliable UV resistance and weather resistance. It is designed to help protect painted marine surfaces from day-to-day exposure in canal, inland and coastal environments.
When used below the waterline, the coating may soften if submerged for prolonged periods. As with all marine coatings, correct substrate preparation and priming are essential for best results.
Surface Preparation & Priming
For best performance ensure surfaces are clean, dry, degreased and lightly abraded. Remove rust, loose paint and contaminants before coating. Bare metal and fibreglass should always be primed with a suitable marine primer. When applying over existing coatings, ensure the surface is sound and keyed for adhesion.
Painted surfaces may become slippery when wet. A textured non-slip marine paint version is available if required.
Mixing Instructions
This coating is heavily pigmented and must be thoroughly stirred before use. Separation and colour float may occur during storage, so proper mixing is essential to achieve the correct colour, gloss level and performance.
Use a slow-running drill fitted with a paddle mixer (recommended)
For smaller cans, use a palette knife that reaches the bottom of the tin
Mix continuously for 3–5 minutes until fully lifted from the base of the can
Do not rely on short sticks, screwdrivers or whisks
If thinning is required, add thinners only after the paint has been fully mixed
Thinning Instructions
Thinning is optional and depends on application method and conditions. Use TA Paints T0001 White Spirit where thinning is required. For spray application, begin at approximately 5% and increase gradually as needed. Do not exceed 10–15% thinning, as excessive thinning will reduce coverage, film build and durability.
Always test a small area before full application.
FAQs
Q1. Can this be used above and below the waterline?
Yes, it is suitable for above and below waterline use, provided the surface is correctly prepared and primed. As with most coatings, prolonged submersion may reduce performance over time.
Q2. What surfaces can I apply it to?
It is suitable for primed metal, primed fibreglass (GRP) and wood surfaces, making it ideal for hulls, cabin sides, decks and marine structures.
Q3. How long before the boat can go back in the water?
The coating should be fully cured before immersion. Allow a minimum of 7 days before placing the substrate into water.
