Product: MSP BOND Dryseal — Limestone Waterproofing Cream 25lt
Manufacturer: Carbusonic
Protect your limestone the professional way. MSP BOND Dryseal is a premium, thixotropic cream designed specifically to deliver deep, one-coat, water-repellent protection to absorbent limestone. Perfect for façades, architectural stonework and restoration projects, it penetrates deeply into the pores of the stone and cures into a silicone polymer that blocks liquid water while leaving the limestone breathable so walls dry naturally without trapping moisture.
Why MSP BOND Dryseal for Limestone?
Tailored for limestone — formulated to bond with the carbonate structure of absorbent limestone.
One-coat application — thixotropic cream achieves full loadings in a single working operation.
Deep penetration — active siloxane chemistry soaks into the stone (typically 30 minutes → several hours depending on porosity).
Breathable finish — treated limestone remains vapour-permeable so the structure can ‘breathe’.
Compatible with slightly damp stone — works where many liquid repellents cannot.
Alkali resistant — safe for cementitious and carbonate environments.
Low environmental impact — aqueous formulation with good coating properties.
Rapid rain resistance — normally resistant to rain within one hour; full cure up to two weeks depending on conditions.
Coverage & Longevity
This professional limestone sealer cream offers excellent coverage and long-lasting protection. One 25 litre container typically covers 90 m², depending on stone porosity and surface condition. When applied correctly, protection can last up to years, reducing the need for frequent reapplication.
Key Benefits
Excellent penetration for long-lasting protection against rain and pollutants.
Reduces frost and salt damage common in porous limestone.
Keeps limestone looking cleaner for longer; lowers maintenance costs.
Simple to apply by brush, lambswool roller or coarse (airless) spray.
Ideal for conservation, restoration and new-build limestone surfaces.
Coverage & Performance
Pack: 3 Litre bucket (this listing).
Coverage: up to 15 m² per 3 L tub (approx.) depending on stone porosity — always test a small area first.
Application rate: up to 0.3 L/m² may be applied in one operation on absorbent stone.
Rain resistance: typically achieved within 1 hour.
Full cure: up to 2 weeks (climatic dependent).
Suitable Uses
Absorbent limestone façades, cladding, lintels, sills, memorials, external walls and decorative stonework.
Not suitable for very dense or non-absorbent stone (e.g., polished marble or dense engineered stone).
Preparation & Application
Preparation
Repair cracks, open joints or other defects before treatment.
Remove dirt, efflorescence, algae or moss using a suitable cleaning method — cleaning opens pores for better absorption.
For heavy biological fouling consider a masonry fungicide or moss/algae cleaner before treatment.
Ensure tools and equipment are clean and dry before use.
Application methods
Brush / lambswool roller: best for small areas and around stone details. Apply liberally to saturate the limestone — at least one full, generous coat; a second application is possible but usually unnecessary.
Airless / coarse spray: recommended for large façades. Start at the highest point and work side-to-side allowing a 15–30 cm run-down for even penetration. Flood-coating twice (wet-on-wet) gives optimal results on highly absorbent limestone.
Aftercare
Keep treated stone free from rain for at least 24 hours for best curing conditions.
Clean tools after use with water and/or white spirit. Tools may be wrapped in plastic for short breaks.
Limitations & Precautions
Performance depends on absorption — treat only absorbent limestone.
High concentrations of soluble salts (chlorides, nitrates, sulphates) may cause damage that water-repellents alone cannot prevent — a salt analysis may be required for heavily contaminated stone.
When spraying, protect windows, painted/varnished surfaces and plants with polythene sheeting.
Avoid application in rain, frost, or when surface/air temperature is below 5°C or above 30°C.
Keep out of reach of children; use suitable PPE (gloves, eyewear) and follow recommended safety guidance.
